Photo thread: share your game setups

Heavy euro game nights require different logistics than light games. Component setup time, rule refreshers for players who have not played recently, and the teach time for new players all need to be planned rather than improvised. Games like Brass Birmingham, Through the Ages, and Ark Nova work best when at least one player knows the rules well enough to teach efficiently.

My group designates a 'rules owner' for each heavy game in our rotation. That person refreshes their knowledge before we schedule a session. They handle the teach, answer questions during play, and run the game clock. The division of responsibility makes heavy game nights run significantly better.

For groups that bounce between heavy games rather than returning to the same ones: consider narrowing your rotation. Depth comes from repetition. Five games played ten times each is a better collection strategy than twenty games played twice each.
