The problem with Pandemic that nobody talks about
The BoardGameGeek collection management tools are genuinely excellent and worth mastering. Tags for played/unplayed, versioning for editions, collection lists for different contexts (game night bag, travel games, solo games) — these features turn the collection page from a static list into a useful planning tool.
The stats page is interesting once your collection and play history are large enough to produce meaningful numbers. Average weight of plays, most played games over time, play rate by acquisition date — these reveal patterns in how you actually use your collection vs how you think you use it.
BGG for wishlist management has one flaw: it surfaces community price data but does not integrate with retailer inventory. I use the wishlist for prioritization but track availability separately.
