What's your hot take on Corvette?

The 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is the muscle car most directly connected to the Trans-Am racing program and the one that most clearly represents what the Z/28 was designed to be.

The 1970 model got the new second-generation body — longer, lower, wider than the first-gen. The 360 horsepower 350 small-block replaced the 302 because the SCCA changed the displacement rules. The LT1 engine with its high-lift cam and large-port heads is the correct specification.

The second-generation cars are slightly more accessible than the first-gen Z/28 because they were produced in larger numbers. They're also slightly less pure in their connection to the Trans-Am program. For a driver who wants a car that's excellent on a backroad, the second-gen Z/28 is the answer.
