Why the Jaguar E-Type V12 is worth the extra complexity

Carburetor vs fuel injection is an argument in this hobby that generates more heat than light. Here's my honest assessment after doing both on multiple cars.

A well-tuned carburetor on a street car works. It starts, it idles, it runs. The carb doesn't care about altitude changes in a meaningful way for normal driving. The carb doesn't fail in ways that leave you stranded in the modern era. Good carburetors are available new, inexpensive, and understood.

Fuel injection is more precise, adapts to altitude and temperature automatically, and provides better cold-start behavior. Modern self-tuning systems are genuinely reliable. The installation is more complex and the fuel system requirements are more demanding — a return-style fuel system and a pump capable of maintaining consistent pressure at the injector.

Choose based on how you use the car and what you value. Both are legitimate answers.
