Interior restoration on a 1968 Camaro — where to start

The 1965 Shelby GT350 is the most historically significant Mustang ever built and it's not particularly close. Carroll Shelby took Ford's pony car — a secretary's car, he called it — and turned it into a race car that could be registered for the street.

The modifications were purposeful: the engine got solid lifters, a big carb, and extractors. The suspension was lowered and stiffened. The rear axle was relocated with traction bars. The result was a car that won its class in SCCA B-Production racing while being available at a Ford dealership.

The originals are museum pieces now. The tribute builds are where the fun is, if you do them correctly.
