The Weber carburetor is the European alternative to the Holley and Rochester, and it's the correct choice for certain applications — primarily Italian and British cars that were factory-equipped with Webers, and performance builds where the specific flow characteristics of the Weber design provide an advantage.

The Weber DCOE side-draft carburetor requires individual throttle bodies — one or two carburetors per cylinder bank, depending on the engine configuration. The setup is complex and requires careful balancing. An improperly balanced multi-Weber setup is worse than a single four-barrel.

The learning curve is steep but the reward is significant: the throttle response of a properly set up Weber installation is immediate and precise in a way that a single four-barrel can't replicate. The sound is also addictive.
