PSA: Mustang tip that saved me

The Alfa Romeo GTV of the 1970s is one of the most balanced sports coupes of its era and one of the best values in the current classic car market.

The twin-cam four-cylinder in 1750 and 2000cc configurations is one of the great small-displacement engines of the period. The balance of power, throttle response, and mechanical sound is something that larger, simpler engines can't replicate. The five-speed gearbox is excellent.

The rust is the elephant in the room. Alfa GT bodies of this era rust comprehensively and structurally. A car without a documented rust history and visible sound metal is not a project — it's a parts car. Find a good body first, then sort the mechanicals.
