Beginner's guide to 240Z?

Installing power windows in a classic car that didn't come with them is a project that lands squarely in the restomod category — invisible to most observers, appreciated by anyone who regularly drives the car.

The factory window regulator mechanism is replaced with a motor-driven regulator. The switch is typically added to the door panel in a location where it looks original. The wiring runs from the door to the main harness through the door jamb.

The two critical considerations: the motor's torque must be matched to the weight of the window, and the limit switches must be correctly set or the motor will continue to run after the window reaches the end of its travel. A motor that tries to move a window that's already fully up will damage the mechanism.
