The 1969 Camaro SS 396 — every option decoded

The Porsche 914 is having the moment I predicted fifteen years ago it would have. Prices have doubled in the last five years. The mid-engine layout that people once considered a compromise is now recognized as a feature. The styling, previously considered awkward, is now considered period-correct and honest.

If you want to get into 914 ownership: buy the best rust-free example you can afford. The cars that were stored in dry climates are in fundamentally different condition from their equivalents in the rust belt. The targa roof seals are a known leak point; address them immediately.

The four-cylinder cars are undervalued relative to the six-cylinder cars and are more accessible mechanically. They're also plenty of fun on a backroad.
