Domestic spaces have specific acoustic properties. The relatively small, irregular rooms, the soft furnishings that absorb high frequencies, the mechanical sounds of appliances and ventilation, the acoustic proximity of other spaces and other lives — these create a specific sonic environment that bedroom recordings capture whether they intend to or not.
