Best resource for learning about bond?

I want to share the credit score improvement story I wish had existed when I needed it.

In 2019 my score was 541. Missed payments on a personal loan during a rough patch, plus 87% utilization across three credit cards.

What I did over 24 months:

  1. Set up autopay on every account to prevent any more missed payments going forward.
  2. Called the creditor on the missed payment and negotiated a goodwill deletion — it worked once out of three attempts.
  3. Aggressively paid down credit card balances starting with the card closest to its limit.
  4. Did not close any old accounts.
  5. Did not open any new accounts for 18 months.

Today my score is 768. The two factors that moved it most: payment history normalizing over time, and utilization dropping from 87% to under 8%.

Time heals most credit wounds. The behaviors that accelerate it are not complicated.
