My 2 years journey with pull-up
Training With Minimal Space
The assumption that calisthenics requires outdoor parks or large rooms is false. Here's a complete training approach for a small apartment or hotel room.
Required space: enough to lie with arms extended overhead (approximately 2m x 1m of floor). That's it. Every floor-based exercise — push-ups, hollow body holds, plank variations, L-sit practice, hip mobility work — fits in this space.
Doorframe bar: a doorframe pull-up bar adds hanging work without permanent installation. Pull-ups, scapular pull-ups, hanging leg raises, and dead hangs all work from this.
Chairs: two sturdy chairs provide pseudo parallel bars for L-sits, dips, and rows underneath. They're not ideal but they're functional.
Travel rings: hung from the doorframe bar or any overhead structure, they add ring work to any location. The ring support, ring rows, and ring push-ups all work in a hotel room with rings hung from the bathroom door.
A complete training session in a hotel room: 10 minutes of floor mobility, 15 minutes of push/pull/core work using bar and floor, 5 minutes of skill practice. Forty minutes total. No excuses necessary.
